چکیده
IntroductionOne-quarter of adults worldwide fulfill the criteria metabolic syndrome (MetS). MetS increases risk diabetes, chronic kidney disease (CKD), and cardiovascular disease. However, association between MetS, hyperfiltration, long-term GFR decline in general population is unknown.MethodsIn Renal Iohexol Clearance Survey (RENIS), we investigated 1551 people aged 50-63 years, representative without disease, or The was measured using iohexol clearance at baseline twice during 11 years follow-up. Hyperfiltration defined as an absolute (ml/min) above 90th percentile adjusted for sex, age, height, these variables correlate with nephron number. increased waist circumference two factors among hypertension, hyperglycemia, elevated triglycerides, low HDL-cholesterol levels. rate calculated linear mixed models.ResultsMetS associated hyperfiltration (OR 2.4 [95% CI; 1.7 – 3.5], p<0.001) a steeper follow-up (-0.30 [-0.43 to -0.16] mL/min/1.73 m2/year). Compared those Mets, -0.83 (95% CI, -1.13 -0.53) m2/year Mets -0.15 0.00) p = 0.2 interaction.ConclusionsIn non-diabetic population, had odds ratio decline. Randomized controlled trials are needed explore whether treatment can prevent loss persons MetS.
